Doghouse Studio has established a reputation for excellence in all facets of music recording and creation, not only in its Brisbane home but all over Australia and many other countries.
Doghouse Studio offers a unique service, from creating and recording your songs, writing the music for your lyrics, right through to designing the covers and labels for your new CDs and duplicating them. We can also write the lyrics for your music, or set your lyrics or poetry to appropriate music.
The director, Vance Lendich, has over 40 years of professional experience to call on, plus university studies in music and recording techniques. He has all the expertise of a working musician and singer, composer, arranger and lyricist, and combines these with the skills and knowledge of a recording engineer with computer expertise.
Arrangements, amateur and professional demo disks, charts, orchestrations, ads, jingles, voiceovers, TV and movie themes, background music, sound bites, LP to CD, covers for your CDs and DVDs, duplication - you name it - we can do it.

Songwriters and Singers
|
We can supply the right vocalists for your original songs if necessary - male, female, child or group - at a reasonable cost. Session musicians are also available. Prices for these are negotiable with those artists.
We can also create backing tracks, midifiles and CDs from your own ORIGINAL material.
We do not and cannot promote your demos to agents, radio stations or record companies.
Please Note: We cannot sell you copies of midi files or karaoke backings of commercially available music, but we can order them for you from authorised suppliers. Prices are reasonable.

Recent Works
|
Colin Brumby is one of Australia's, indeed the world's, foremost contemporary composers. In 1983 he wrote a delightful and affectionate variation of Mozart's "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik" which he called "Eine Kleine Streichmusik". Vance was a student of Colin Brumby's at the University of Queensland about 25 years ago and the score was given to him to "computerise". Unfortunately, pressure of work meant that it got put aside and eventually forgotten.
Then during a studio reorganization, it came to light again and Vance painstakingly transcribed it, instrument by instrument to the computer.
It consists of four movements, Allegro, Romanza, Menuetto and Rondo. You can download an MP3 of the Rondo - see link below.
The cover design is based on a 1790 portrait of Mozart by Johann Georg Edlinger, adapted by our designer, with the head of Colin Brumby.

Location
|
Doghouse Studio is tucked away in a quiet suburban setting. A friendly, relaxed atmosphere is our aim. Appointments are required for recording sessions, so please ring.
Our home-base recording studio is comparatively small but will accommodate a four piece band plus singer. Larger combinations can be recorded in two or more sessions. We recently recorded a choir of 36 children in two sessions.
Please note: We do NOT have rehearsal or practice rooms available. Hours are Monday to Saturday, 10am to 6pm.

Professional Charts, Arrangements & Orchestrations
|
Professional musicians can have charts and scores meticulously created. Anything from a single instrument to a band.
We can also create arrangements and orchestrations for larger works, such as musicals, festivals and special events.
We now have available two original arrangements for big bands -
1. a 19 piece arrangements of "When Sunny Gets Blue" priced at $100.00
2. an 11 piece arrangement of "Ain't She Sweet" priced at $80.00
These are in printable PDF format.
We can also supply three, four and five piece original arrangements of many jazz standards, also in PDF format. Ask for your requirement.

Voiceovers, Poems & Speeches
|
Voice-overs, speeches, tutorials, lectures, talks, poems, yarns - have them professionally recorded in our studio.
A music background can also be incorporated, supplied by you or us. We also have a library of sound effects.
We can supply voice-over professionals - male, female or child as required.

Special Occasions
|
Amateur tape recordings of weddings, funerals and other events can be cleaned up and enhanced to preserve precious memories or to send to those who were unable to attend. Music can be added if required.
Typically, churches and chapels do not have very good sound systems and the acoustics can be less than perfect. There is often a lot of background noise and echo in these recordings which can be eliminated to a degree. Ask for a quote.

Worldwide Service
|
It doesn't matter where you live if you have access to email. Files can be sent to you no matter where you are. Click Contact or phone us for enquiries.
We have clients all over Australia, as well as the U.K., Europe, N.Z., Asia and the USA. Some of our recent work involved a well-known British actor holidaying in Australia, recording voiceovers and emailing the results to a film company in the U.K.

CD Cover Design
|
Have some unique CD covers created for your original CDs by our designer. Covers, CD labels and tray inserts or any combination of these can be created.
Supply your own photos or artwork, or have a new design created just for you. We can also photograph you if required or choose images, typefaces and graphics from our collection.

We are not a dedicated duplication service. However, we can offer up to 20 copies at a time of a CD that was recorded with us.
