HTML SPECIAL CHARACTERS

To use such symbols as © or ® you can't just type them in, so you need special code to do them in HTML. The following table gives a list of some commonly used characters and symbols. Type them in EXACTLY as they are given. Note that each is preceded by & (ampersand) and closed with a semi-colon. You can use either the Name or Number code, where given. You can vary the effect by using different fonts, colours and sizes.

* The non-breaking space is used to insert more space between words or sentences within a paragraph. It can also be used to add more space between paragraphs, and in a blank table row for spacing.
